Mother arrested for burning her child’s fingers

Police in Siavonga have arrested a 23 year old woman for burning her step daughter’s  ten fingers using a wire after the hungry child ate a piece of fish and porridge.

Eli Singandu of Siavonga’s Kaleya  compound  was arrested yesterday  around 9: 00 hours by the police after a tip off from members of public.

It was reportedly that after Singandu found that her daughter had eaten the food before lunch time she got annoyed and decided to burn Chibamba’s fingers as a punishment.

The girl , whose fingers were brutally burnt,  has since been admitted at Siavonga district hospital for medical attentions.

Siavonga police officer in-charge Venus Tembo who confirmed the incident to ZANIS in an interview this morning said Singandu will appear in court soon
