The UPND says it has reason to believe that Housing and Infrastructure Development Minister Ronald Chitotela could not be the only one corrupt in the PF government.
UPND president Hakainde Hichilema says his party suspects it is the entire PF regime that is allegedly rotten to the core and requires a massive cleanup and total overhaul.
Mr. Hichilema says this is why the UPND has consistently told the nation about the ongoing corruption in the country which the PF government has however been denying.
He states that his party is thus left to conclude that the alleged massive corruption in the PF government could be the reason why meal allowances at public universities have also been scrapped off.
In a statement to Q-News Mr. Hichilema notes that his party did however predict and warn Zambians that the PF government would economically bankrupt the country through corruption.
Mr. Hichilema says the UPND’s concern, on the other hand, is that the decision to abolish meal allowances for students has far reaching consequences to the individual students.
He says this is because with this decision, youths are now consigned to evil vices for them to raise money to buy food and other necessities while at universities.
