YWCA in Kasama drags a young woman to police for indecent dressing

The Young Women Christian Association or YWCA in Kasama has dragged a young woman of Mulenga Hills to police for indecent dressing.

And Northern Province YWCA Coordinator, Zilot Phiri warns that his organisation will start enforcing the moral dress code for the womenfolk so that the indecency which is prevalent in dressing could be stopped.

Mr. Phiri has reiterated his call on the womenfolk to practice decent dressing saying this move will serve as a lesson to other women.

He adds that parents have a pivotal role in changing the thinking of women in society because good values and morals start from home to influence society.

Mr Phiri says it is shameful to see young women walking around in short skirts thereby exposing their thighs for everyone to see.

He made the remarks yesterday shortly after officers from YWCA apprehended a woman in Kasama town centre who was dressed indecently.

Mr. Phiri later handed over the woman in question to officers at Kasama Central Police station.
