The opposition NDC has adopted Saboi Imboela as its candidate for the lusaka Mayoral poll.
The lusaka Mayoral race takes place on July 26 next month.
NDC Secretary General Mwenya Musenge unveiled Ms. Imboela at a press briefing in lusaka today.
Mr. Musenge said the NDC had received overwhelming response from members who wanted to stand on the NDC ticket.
He added that Ms. Imboela has the right credentials hence the decision by the party to field her as its candidate.
Ms. Imboela holds a Degree in political Science with a Distinction from the University of Zambia Unza.
She also holds a Masters Degree in International law from Canterbury University in New Zealand.
She is currently a PhD student in political science at Unza.
Ms Imboela is also a Member of the Central Committee for the NDC in charge of Gender and Child Development.
She is a lecturer at Unza and development consultant for a number of organizations.
And the NDC has adopted lugomo Phiri as its candidate for the Chipangali Council chairperson position.
Mr. Phiri is former MMD Eastern province chairman.
He was also pf presidential provincial elections committee Chairperson for Edgar Lungu in 2015.
He previously served as MMD ward councillor under chipangali between 2011 and 2016.
Mr. Phiri is currently NDC Chairperson for Eastern province.
And the NDC has adopted Kidson Katunta as its candidate for the vacant Chilanga District council Chairperson position.
Mr. Katunta is the current Information and Publicity Secretary for NDC in lusaka Province.
Mr. Musenge has further unveiled Gabriel Mbewe as its candidate for the vacant kasenegwa Council chairperson position.
Given Chola has been adopted to contest on the NDC as chifunabuli council Chairperson.
The NDC has adopted John lungu as its council Chairperson for lumezhi.
In Mwense, the NDC has adopted Marvis Mwitwa as its candidate for the cha cha ward Local Government seat.
He observed that the NDC will conduct issued based campaigns as it jostles for the various vacant local government and Mayoral polls.
Meanwhile, the NDC Secretary General has disclosed that the party will field Chishimba Kambwili as its Presidential candidate in the 2021 general election’s.
Dr. Kambwili is currently NDC consultant and Roan pf Mp.
And the NDC Secretary General has ruled out the possibility of the NDC getting into an alliance with another political party.
He added that the NDC will go it alone in the 2021 polls under the leadership of Dr. Kambwili.
Mr. Musenge has also thanked pf Members of Parliament who have continued rendering support to the NDC.
He adds that the pf lawmakers will at an appropriate time announce their allegiance and association with the NDC.
Mr. Musenge has reaffirmed that the NDC will continue giving checks and balances to the pf.
He adds that the NDC is witnessing steady growth as it continues mobilizing the party in all corners of the country.
