Southern Province Police Commissioner has revealed that a 35 year old male taxi driver of Kabanana site and service in Lusaka was on Wednesday attacked by an unknown bandit after the Kafue Bridge Check point.

Kapeso tells Byta FM News that the cab driver who was driving a Toyota Runx Registration Number BAH 2740 gold in colour (pictured below), was booked from Northmead taxi rank to Kafue by the lone man who was armed with a pistol and knife.

The Sothern Province Police Boss explains that the driver had his legs and hands tied and bundled in the boot of the car after the Kafue Bridge check point.

He adds that the criminal then drove the vehicle and later abandoned it about three meters behind Mazabuka Police camp.

Kapeso says the driver sustained a deep cut on the right middle finger, a painful back and had his K700 and two cellphones both valued at K850 stolen.

The vehicle has since been recovered.
