Police have arrested twelve suspected criminals believed to be behind a spate of crimes in Chilenje, Chalala area and shopping malls in Lusaka.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo said the successful arrest follows an operation which was conducted by officers from Chilenje Police since the last week of January 2018 to date.
And Ms Katongo listed properties recovered as 14 Television sets, 40 assorted mobile phones and tablets, assorted decoders, three grinding machines, laptops, housebreaking implements and five motor vehicles used in committing crimes among others.
She said most of the items were recovered from Misisi and Chibolya compounds as well as Matero Township.
Ms Katongo explained that among the 12 suspects who are currently detained in Police custody, five (05) have been charged with Theft from Motor Vehicle and for being Found in Possession of Property suspected to have been stolen while seven (07) are facing three counts of Aggravated Robbery and for being found with property suspected to have been stolen,”
And Ms Katongo has warned all criminals to always be mindful that their days are numbered.
