Today (Feb 1), I took time with my Permanent Secretary Mr Bright Nundwe to pay a courtesy call on newly appointed Metropolitan Archbishop of Lusaka Dr. Alick Banda.
As Copperbelt Administration, we are elated that the Province has yet again produced another national leader.
My office has enjoyed a cordial working relationship with the Right Reverend Bishop Banda during the time he served as Ndola Diocese Bishop and we wish him the very best as he takes up his new role in Lusaka.
The PF government under the leadership of His Excellency President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, the great leader of this great nation values the support and partnership with the Church. The Catholic Church, in particular, has been a strong pillar in national development, especially in the health and education sectors.
President Lungu has always stated that the Church and the State are one and should always forge hands to serve humankind and Bishop Banda clearly demonstrated this as Head of the Catholic Church in the province.
