The Luapula Chiefs Council has refuted media reports that Chiefs in Luapula Province are in support of former Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba.
Luapula Chiefs Council Chairperson Senior Chief Mwewa says the report attributed to him that chiefs in Luapula are supporting Mr. Kalaba are malicious and only aimed at tarnishing the image of traditional leaders in the province.
Senior Chief Mwewa says Luapula chiefs have never at any time sat to discuss the issue of Mr. Kalaba and warned that chiefs in the province will start denying audience to malicious media houses to avoid embarrassment.
ZANIS reports that the Luapula Chiefs Council Chairperson said this in Mansa on Wednesday when he addressed over 20 chiefs from around the province that met under the umbrella of the Luapula Chiefs Council.
