ZCSD calls on Govt to pay attention to people living with disabilities
The Zambia Council for Social Development (ZCSD) has called on the government to end inequality against persons with disabilities.
ZCSD Executive Director Lewis Mwape tells Chikuni Radio News that his organization is aware of the inequalities existing against people living with disabilities in the country.
Mr. Mwape observes that there is the exclusion of citizens with disabilities from social, economic and political opportunities in Zambia.
He says lack of education has been one of the greatest barriers to the economic, social and political participation of persons with disabilities as they are sidelined by employers and appointing authorities in government.
Mr. Mwape adds that there is need to challenge the current status quo and ensure commitment to the national resources to provide education to citizens with disabilities for them not to continue to be excluded.
