Minister of General Education Dennis Wanchinga says the ministry is putting in place measures to ensure that all audit queries under the 2017 Auditor General’s report are addressed to restore sanity.

He says it is saddening that the Ministry of Education has over the years been associated with a lot of vices ranging from child abuse, bad teacher behavior, partisan politics and education malpractices.

Dr. Wanchinga was speaking in Livingstone when he call on Acting Livingstone District Commissioner Harriet Kawina at her office.

The minister said he is touring the Southern Province to monitor infrastructure development and to appreciate the challenges the region is facing in the education sector.

And Acting Livingstone District Commissioner Harriet Kawina assured the minister that the district is peaceful.

Ms. Kawina also said there are a number of schools in Livingstone that need infrastructure upgrade to meet the demand especially for children who walk long distances to access education.
