The allocation of stands to traders at the gutted city market has been completed with over 4,000 traders allocated with trading space.
However, a visit at the market by Radio Phoenix News has revealed that not a single vendor has been allocated trading space at the market as was earlier announced by Local Government Minister, Vincent Mwale.

Upon inquiring about this development, City Market Chairperson Gift Simusamba clarified that no vendor was given stands at the market as they are required to go to civic for further clarification from the local authority.
And a check at Civic Center by Phoenix Staffer Prudence Siabana found hundreds of vendors waiting to be addressed while those talked to expressed frustration at government’s failure to fulfill its promise over their matter.
