In spite of fears of a possible outbreak of cholera in Kasama, street vendors have vowed to continue trading barely 24 hours after the local authority effected a ban.

The vendors who stormed Radio Mano Jan 9th, charge that they have nowhere to go as street vending is their only source of livelihood.

They have since called on the council to rescind its decision of chasing them away from the streets.

Yesterday, the Kasama Municipal Council banned street vending as a preventive measure in a wake of an outbreak of cholera in the country.
