Former Rainbow party deputy General Secretary and presidential running mate in last month’s elections Dr. Cosmas Musumali has described the outcome of the presidential petition as a betrayal of the Zambian people.

Dr. Musumali says it embarrassing to see how the Constitutional Court judges handled the petition filed by the United Party for National Development.

He says the outcome of the petition is highly debatable; stressing that there is no way a case can be dismissed without hearing.

Dr Musumali says it is a shame that Zambia has become a laughing stock to the rest of Africa following the decision of the Constitutional COURT.

He notes that the country would take time to heal from this situation as it sets a precedence that’s unparallel in the country’s history.
