UPND wins Monze

The United Party for National Development’s (UPND)’s presidential candidate Hakainde Hichilema has polled a total of 74,604 votes in all the three constituencies in Monze District  followed by the  Patriotic Front (PF) Candidate Edgar
Lungu  who got a total of  2,741 votes.
And the UPND has scooped all the three National Assembly seats, the council chairperson and all the 22 wards in Monze District.
In the final presidential elections results for Bweengwa constituency, UPND’s Hichilema polled 21,316, PF’s Lungu polled 327, United Progressive People (UPP)’s Saviour  Chishimba got 47, and Rainbow Party’s Wynter Kabimba got 25 votes.
Others include the PAC’s Andyford Band who got 13, Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD)’s Edith Nawakwi polled 12, while United National Independence Party (UNIP)’s Tilyenji Kaunda and Democratic Alliance(DA)’s Maxwell Mwamba both polled 3 votes apiece while Green Party’s Peter Sinkamba got 1 vote.

In Moomba constituency UPND got 13,429 followed by PF who got 182 votes, while PP polled 30, FDD got 28, PAC 20, Rainbow party 10, Green Party 6, UNIP 3 and DA got zero.
And in Monze Central Constituency UPND got 39,859, PF got 2,232, FDD
got 185, PP polled 64, and Rainbow party got 48.
In the same constituency UNIP got 17, Green party 7 while DA got a
pantry two votes.
Under the presidential election, a total of 223 rejected
ballot papers were recorded in Bweengwa, 527 in Monze Central, and 218 in Moomba
constituencies.

And in the National Assembly elections UPND’s Jack Mwiimbu was declared winner of the Monze Central Constituency seat after he polled 38,536 votes, followed by PF’s Judith Hambwezya who got 2,291, while FDD’s Maambo Musute managed to get 1,541 votes.
In Bweengwa Constituency the UPND’s Michelo  Kasauta was declared winner last night by returning officer Ms Mweemba Mambo after polling 20,548, followed by PF’s Jocelyn Mweempwa who got 910 votes.
In Moomba constituency the UPND’s Fred Chaatila was declared winner last night by the returning officer Mr. Francis Mpiana after he got 11,678 votes. While, an independent candidate Patson Moono polled 1,022, PF’s Alice Mw
