Three parties predict Lungu landslide victory

Three Political parties backing the candidature of President Edgar Lungu have predicted that incumbent president Edgar Lungu will scoop Thursday’s election with a landslide victory.

The Zambia Republican Party, Citizens Democratic Party and Christian Democratic Party made the declaration during a press briefing held in Lusaka today.
Christian Democratic Party President Reverend Dan Pule said he and his team has campaigned vigorously in all the Ten provinces of Zambia for President Lungu’s re-election.
Rev. Pule said President Lungu is a hard working president who has managed to bring development across the country.
He said Zambia will be in better hands under the leadership of President Lungu because he has a vision of improving the welfare of the Zambian people.
Rev. Pule also predicted that President Lungu will gunner 80 percent votes in Luapula, Northern and Muchinga Provinces respectively.
He further revealed that President Lungu will get 80 percent votes cast in Eastern Province because the people of the region have now realized that he is a good president who has managed to bring development within a short period of time.

Rev. Pule also said President Lungu is receiving overwhelming support in the United Party for National Development (UPND) stronghold of Southern, North Western and Western provinces.
“President Lungu will no doubt scoop Thursday’s elections convincingly. Zambians should go out in numbers and vote for President Lungu”, Rev. Pule said.
The Christian Democratic Party leader also condemned violence which has been perpetuated by some named opposition political party in the country.
He noted that Zambia has been a peaceful nation since independence adding that citizens should embrace peace before during and after the general elections.
And New Congress Party President Peter Chanda urged all street vendors country wide to rally behind the candidature of President Lungu in the August 11 polls because he has  allowed them to trade freely in the country.
Pastor Chanda said Zambian should not vote for expired political leaders who have no vision for the nation.
He said people should not be cheated that the opposition will be able to steer development in the nation.
Zambia Republican Party President Wright Musoma also seconded the predictions that President Lungu will scoop this years election with over 70 percent of the votes cast.
Mr Musoma said Zambians should not cheated by opposition party leaders promising to offer heaven on earth.
He said it is only president Lungu who has a credible vision for Zambia hence the need to re-elect President Lungu on August 11.
Meanwhile, Citizens Democratic party President Robert Mwanza urged the people of Southern, Western and North Western to think twice and start supporting president Lungu.
Mr Mwanza said people should not be deceived by huge rallies that have characterised rallies of opposition parties.
He said that it is utopia for the opposition to promise 16.5 Million Zambians that they will be able to receive free things without explaining how that will be achieved.
