  • More than 15,000 people attended Muhammad Ali’s public funeral in Louisville, Kentucky on Friday
  • Diplomats, famous musicians and actors, and talented athletes were among those paying their respects
  • Comedian Billy Crystal and former President Bill Clinton were chosen to give eulogies at the event 
  • Actor Will Smith, who portrayed the boxing great in the 2001 film Ali, acted as a pallbearer at the private burial earlier in the day, along with boxing legends Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis

Ali died last week at the age of 74, after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.

He was laid to rest Friday afternoon at Cave Hill cemetery in his native Louisville, Kentucky. While Ali’s burial was a private affair, his family and friends held a public funeral for him at the KFC Center in Louisville after his interment.
