The National Economic Advisory Council-NEAC- has projected a further decline in the national inflation rate towards the end of the financial year.

NEAC Principal Policy Analyst Oswald Mungule says the first quarter of the year has seen the rate of inflation stabilizing.

Dr. Mungule says this is likely to continue in the second quarter of the year.

He says combined efforts by Ministries of Finance and Commerce are helping to stabilise the economy.

He was speaking in an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka today.

The annual rate of inflation for March 2016 declined by 0.7 percent.

The inflation rate declined to 22.2 percent from February’s 22.9 per cent.
