AN EIGHTEEN-YEAR-OLD man of Ndola’s Kansenshi Township has gone missing in unexplained circumstances after he left home to go for work on Monday.
Richard Chibwe is said to have left home for work but he has never returned since Monday, a situation that has worried his family.
His aunt Mercy Katongola said Mr Chibwe who was once a mental patient had recovered and started work.
Ms Katongola said Mr Chibwe had just returned from the United Kingdom where he was living with his father and step mother.
“My nephew was depressed when he came back to Zambia. We do not know what transpired in UK, but he was sent back to Zambia sick. We took him to the hospital where he was found to have a mental illness,” Ms Katongola said.
She said he was later treated and doctors recommended that he was capable of starting work.
Ms Katongola said Mr Chibwe was working until Monday when he disappeared and never went back home.
She said the family reported the matter to the police and that a search was being conducted, but he had not yet been found.
Ms Katongola appealed to members of the public to help find her nephew and that anyone with information should report to the nearest police station.
“We are asking members of the public to help us find my nephew. He speaks English and Bemba,” she said.
Mr Chibwe was staying with his grandparents in Kansenshi before his disappearance.
