Two Ndola residents nabbed over fake US$30,000

The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has arrested two people  in Ndola for being in possession of over 30,00 US dollars and  one thousand Eight hundred kwacha counterfeit notes.

 

DEC public relations officer Theresa Katongo named those arrested with the counterfeit notes as Honest Mulongoti 43 and Martin Luyanga 45 of masala and Kabushi townships respectively.

 

Ms katongo said this in a statement issued to ZANIS in Lusaka today.

 

And Ms Katongo said the commission has so far arrested 40 people countrywide for unlawful cultivation and trafficking in cannabis.

 

She said among those arrested is a Rwandese national Hamilcar Nkurunzinza 28, a sales man in South Africa for trafficking in loose cannabis weighing 17grams.

 

Ms Katongo said all the suspects arrested are expected to appear in court soon.
