WOMAN GANG RAPED, BATTLES FOR LIFE

A WOMAN has been gang raped by five men in Kabwe leaving her battling for her life in a hospital.
The woman aged 20, was raped in the early hours of Tuesday, this week.
She was pounced on her way to purchase merchandise for sale in Makululu Township, behind Kasansa police camp houses.
Central Province Police chief Lombe Kamukoshi said in an interview that investigations have been launched to ensure the culprits to book.

“We have launched investigations into this matter and we want to appeal to the public to assist in bringing the suspects to book,” she said.
Ms Kamukoshi said the assailants raped her one after the other and left her for dead.
However, health personnel described her condition as stable.
Meanwhile, all the 17 passengers who sustained injuries following a road traffic accident involving a 75 seater bus in Chibombo have been discharged from hospital.
The accident which happened after a Copperbelt bound Mazhandu bus registration number ALL 5978 rammed into a stationary truck and careered off the road injuring some passengers on board.
Central Province permanent secretary Edwidge Mutale who visited the injured passengers at Liteta Hospital said she was saddened by the accident.
Ms Mutale said doctors at the hospital described the passengers as stable and that most of the sustained head and body injuries.
She said of those injured included a Mozambique and a Congolese.
