EVEN if you don’t want me and you chase me, I will refuse to leave the PF, says Miles Sampa.

And PF secretary general Davies Chama says party members must stop creating “political problems” for President Lungu so that he can concentrate on finding solutions to the challenges which the country is facing.

At a joint media briefing yesterday, Sampa, who is Matero member of parliament, said he did not understand what PF members expected from him.

“I am not resigning from the party. This party PF is not owned by anybody, it is owned by all of you. Even if you don’t want me and you chase me, I will refuse the PF. You will kill me just here. When we were suffering in opposition, I didn’t resign, now that we are in government, why should I resign? I am not forming a party or joining any other party. There were 10 of us who stood against President Edgar Lungu but why namunkoselela?” asked Sampa. “The President is my brother and he is my president in the party and the Republican President. I have no problem whatsoever with him and I have never witnessed anything, all I have seen from him is love and I equally give him back love and respect but there are others amongst ourselves, when they see there is peace between me and the President, they don’t like it. What they do is to start manufacturing total lies. After Chawama there, they were already saying he’s working too hard, why is he working too hard, he is campaigning for himself. I fold my arms and sit down, they start talking. In Lubansenshi, I didn’t go there, the same people stand up…so what do you want me to do?”

And Chama asked party members to stop creating political problems for the Head of State.

“We want the President to concentrate on finding solutions to the challenges which the country is going through rather than creating political problems for the President and the party. So I was happy when Sampa called me last night. He is our brother and I said honourable, I have been in several media houses defending you. And it is good that now you have come out to defend yourself and clear the air. Because if you didn’t do that, people would think I am supporting what they are insinuating you have been doing,” said Chama.

  1. Miles please do not make the mistake Wynter made. Hang in there and look to see the Boat floating. Leadership is always before huddles.
