Masebo not well,case fails to take off

The case, in which Chongwe Member of Parliament, Sylvia Masebo, is accused of abuse of authority of office, failed to take off because she is unwell.

Ms Masebo is alleged to have cancelled a tender of hunting licenses, when she served as Minister of Tourism and Arts.

She is further charged with abuse of office, for allegedly terminating employment contracts of senior officers at Zambia Wildlife Authority -ZAWA, without following procedure.

Ms Masebo has pleaded not guilty.

And when the matter came up for continued trial, Ms Masebo’s lawyer informed the court, that she is unwell forcing the court to adjourn the matter to October 10, 2015.

Ms. Masebo is being represented by Lusaka lawyer, Robert Simenza while the state is being represented by Makebi Zulu, Jonas Zimba and Gilbert Phiri.
