Thieves have broken into the Kawambwa Central United Church of Zambia (UCZ) and stolen items valued at K900.00.

UCZ Church Secretary, Dickson Chishimba, confirmed the burglary to ZANIS in Kawambwa, saying the incident happened on Friday night.

Mr Chishimba said the thieves got into the church after breaking
burglar bars to one of the windows.

He noted that the items stolen are the clothes meant for giving the vulnerable people in the area and some books.

However, Mr Chishimba explained that he suspects that the thieves wanted some money because most of the things in his and reverend’s offices were found scattered.

Police in the area could not be reached for comment by press time.

Recently, thieves broke into the Pentecostal Assemblies of God
(PAOG) Church and stole some money and clothes.
