IN ITS quest to provide financial solutions in various economic sectors, Stanbic Bank Zambia has been awarded the best foreign exchange provider for 2015 by Global Finance Magazine Awards for its exemplary service performance in the country.
Global Finance Magazine holds several conferences and awards ceremonies throughout the year to recognise the winning financial institutions and companies in several categories.
Commenting on the award, Stanbic Bank Zambia chief executive Charles Mudiwa said the award provides confirmation of the success of the bank’s client-focused strategy and desires to serve clients through a well-established on-the-ground presence in Zambia and global connectivity that links the clients to opportunities in Africa.

“The African growth story is on everyone’s lips and as a bank, we need to ensure we are providing financial solutions that address the needs of the various participants involved in the value chain.
“Having built strong in-country advisory capabilities, Stanbic Bank Zambia is able to deliver a full range of corporate and investment banking services to clients in Zambia and across Africa,” Mr Mudiwa said in a statement on Friday.
Stanbic Bank Zambia head of public relations Chanda Katongo also said the bank has been performing well this year, hence its recognisition.
Standard Bank Group is the largest African bank by asset with a unique footprint across 20 countries on the continent and operates in Zambia as Stanbic Bank.
“The group was awarded both best foreign exchange services in Africa and best transactional bank for financial institutions in Africa by Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Finance’s Treasury services awards 2015. Standard Bank has been a recipient of the EMEA Finance’s Treasury services award for the sixth consecutive year,” she said.
