Zambians observe national day of prayer, fasting

Hundreds of Zambians have gathered in Lusaka’s Show Grounds main arena where the prayers are conducted
Zambians are today observing the national day of prayer and fasting that was called by President Edgar Lungu.
In Lusaka, people are flocking into the Show Grounds main arena where the prayers will be conducted from 13hrs to the break of the fast at 18:00 hours.
And First Republican President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda is expected to release a fatherly blessing on President Lungu and President Lungu in turn is expected to release a blessing to the nation by way of releasing a dove in the show grounds.
The Head of State is also expected to deliver a speech in the Showground’s as he joins other Zambians in praying for God’s intervention in the affairs of the nation.
President Lungu declared today, October 18, 2015 a day of repentance, fasting and prayer in response to the overwhelming requests that ordinary citizens and clergy from all denominations had made.
Meanwhile, a check by QFM News in Lusaka found most bars, pubs and public places, including restaurants and fast-food outlets, closed in a spirit to enable members of the public to dedicate their time in passionate prayer and fasting.
