THE FOUNDATION FOR DEMOCRATIC PROCESS-FODEP HAS DESCRIBED THE CREATION OF NEW MINISTRIES BY REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU AS ILL-TIMED.
Speaking in an interview with Mano News in Kasama, FODEP Executive Director McDonald Chipenzi said it was shocking to hear President Lungu creating new ministries at a time when the country’s economy is dwindling.
Mr Chipenzi described the pronouncements as a misplaced priority and has since appealed to the head of state to revisit his decision.
He added that there is no time for the re-aligned ministries to start implementing policies as the PF government has only less than a year in office before parliament is dissolved.
Meanwhile, Mr Chipenzi has since charged that President Lungu’s declaration to stop constructing houses for former Zambian Heads of State is baseless due to the creation of new ministries.
President Edgar Lungu has clarified that the splitting of some government ministries is intended to enhance efficiency in the delivery of services.
