Lungu promises a different kind of politics

Republican President Edgar Lungu says he wants to bring a difference in the way politics are being done in the country.
Speaking when he met Chiefs from southern province at Sinazeze primary school in Sinazongwe district this morning, President Lungu says unlike some politicians who want power to enrich themselves, he wants to serve the people because leaders are servants of the people.
President Lungu says he wants to ensure that the lives of the people of Zambia are improved so that the people can have a sense of belonging.
He says currently, there is a lot of talk, but urged the traditional leaders not to have sleepless nights as a result of this talk because those talking are merely politicking.
President Lungu has further reiterated his desire to reduce the high levels of poverty in the country.

 

 

And speaking on behalf of the chiefs, Chief Singani urged President Lungu to continue developing the nation stressing that they are aware that development cannot happen in a day.
The traditional leader says Chiefs in southern province are grateful for the appointment of Sinazongwe Member of Parliament Richwell Siamunene as defence minister.
Traditional leaders present included Chief Mukuni, Chief Chipepo, Chief Sinazongwe and Chief Sindaba.
The president is in district to commission works on the bottom road.
