SQUABBLES HAVE ENGULFED THE PATRIOTIC FRONT-PF IN KASAMA DISTRICT FOLLOWING THE SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND KWACHA LEFT BY REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT, EDGAR LUNGU DURING HIS RECENT VISIT TO THE AREA.

In a letter of petition to the PF Secretary General dated 14th September, 2015 signed by 62 party officials and made available to Mano News today, the said officials allege that the District Executive Committee and the Constituency Committee pocketed the K75, 000 they got from President Lungu on Friday last week.

The petitioners charged that the K75, 000 was meant for party mobilization, but to their surprise, the two Executive Committees failed to mobilize party members and residents to welcome President Lungu.
They added that PF in Kasama is currently disintegrated to the extent that several District Executive Committee and Constituency Committees are publicly supporting the opposition.

The 62 petitioners also accused Teddy Mweshi led Executive Committee of barring ward officials from attending meeting addressed by the top leadership.
They have since called for the dissolution of the District Executive Committee and the Constituency Committee.

…Yesterday, some irate PF members exchanged abusive language at their party office in Kasama over the K75, 000 left by President Edgar Lungu.
The visibly annoyed PF members argued that the money was meant for sharing among members, but wondered why their District Chairperson, Teddy Mweshi was holding on to it.

But, when reached for a comment, PF-Kasama District Chairperson, Teddy Mweshi told Mano News that the K75, 000 is meant for party mobilization and not for sharing as some members are pressurizing him to do.

Mr. Mweshi clarified that the said money which is in the hands of the Northern Province Minister, Freedom Sikazwe will be shared after opening bank account at District, Constituency and ward level.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mweshi said he is aware of some PF members who want to cause confusion in the party over petty issues.
