The Zambia medical bench has revealed that they have not received a medical report on midfielder Chisamba Lungu’s injury status at his Russian side FC Ural.

Chisamba is one of 13 foreign-based call-ups Zambia coach George Lwandamina has summoned for Zambia’s 2017 Africa Cup Group E qualifier away to Kenya on September 6 in Nairobi.

The midfielder has been sidelined with an injury for the last fortnight at the Russian club.

“I have got no official report coming from the club and if I have no official report then it is only right that I don’t comment on that,” Zambia team physician Doctor Joseph Kabungo said.

Chisamba sustained his injury at training on August 14, two days before Ural’s away Russian Premiership match against Dinamo Moscow on August 16 that his club lost 1-0.

He went on to miss the ninth-placed club’s second away match last Saturday against Anzhi that finished 1-1.

Chisamba has played four out of the six league games so far this season at Ural where the 24-year-old has been since 2010 when he moved from Georgian club Baia.

Ural play their final match this Friday at home before the Russian league takes a week-and-half long Fifa international match day break.
