ONE person has died while five others are nursing injuries in Chinsali District Hospital after the vehicle in which they were travelling overturned in Shiwang’andu on Thursday.
Muchinga Province criminal investigations officer Febian Mwaba said in an interview yesterday that the accident happened around 19:50 hours at Kalalantekwe area.
“The vehicle had a rear tyre burst and it overturned, killing one person on the spot. The car is extensively damaged,” Mr Mwaba said.
He said the driver of the unregistered Toyota Noah, which was laden with bags of rice, is on the run.
He said the deceased is yet to be identified and the body is in Mpika District Hospital mortuary.
