Opposition FDD President Edith Nawakwi has complained that there is not enough Police presence in Bangweulu Constituency ahead of tomorrow’s parliamentary by-election.

Speaking at the Samfya Civic Center on Wednesday morning when she went to complain to Bangweulu Constituency Returning Officer Liftery Ndaba, Ms Nawakwi said Police officers deployed in Bangweulu were few.

She further said the officers present were less mobile and they needed enough vehicles to patrol the vast constituency and ensure security for all stakeholders in the by-election.

Ms Nawakwi said Zambians feel safe when they see Police officers and the Police High Command should have deployed enough officers capable of being in all areas of Bangweulu.

Last month, the Zambia Police Service deployed one hundred and fifty Police officers in Bangweulu.

Inspector General of Police Stella Libongani even visited the constituency and assured the residents of Police protection.
