Postmaster General McPherson Chanda has urged the general public to use Zampost Cars Bureau service when purchasing vehicles online to avoid fraud.

Mr. Chanda said this in an interview with ZANIS at the handover ceremony of the win- a- promotion which ran from 15th May to 15th July this year in Ndola yesterday.

He said the Zampost Cars Bureau confronts the vice of cyber fraud on its territory and overcomes it by offering a 100% safe way for a customer to buy a motor vehicle online.

“Over 5, 000 used motor vehicles are imported in Zambia per month and with such a high number of vehicles landing in the country there has been an increase in incidences of internet fraud”, he said.

He stated that the Zampost Cars Bureau is not only the safest way to buy a vehicle online but also the cheapest and fastest way one can use when buying a vehicle.

“A lot of Zambians get swindled when buying their vehicles online and as Zampost we are here to create awareness to the public and make sure they receive good services,” he noted.

He further said that Zampost being a public institution has an obligation to protect Zambians from such vices.

“We encourage our customers to always pay for pre shipping inspection to ensure that their vehicles meet road worthiness inspection and high quality standards,” Mr. Chanda explained.

He added that most cars are imported from nuclear countries hence by paying for pre shipping inspection, toxic elements can be detected and removed, and customers get value for their money in terms of both safety and durability.

Meanwhile Mr. George Kamaji of Kitwe, one of Zampost customer and winner in the win-a-car promotion has also encouraged the public to make payments through Zampost office when purchasing vehicles online as it is a convenient and safe.
