President Edgar Lungu has officially graced this year’s Mutomboko traditional ceremony of the Lunda people in Mwanasbombwe with a clarion call on traditional leaders to help foster national unity.
The President joined scores of people, traditional leaders from within the country and the Democratic Republic of Congo at a colorful traditional event.
The Mwata Kazembe mesmerized patrons has he performed the conquest dance in his flamboyant traditional attire.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Edgar Lungu announced the repossession of the Kawambwa tea land which will now be used for a ZAFFICO Tea Plantation.
President Lungu says this move is aimed at cushioning the operational challenges the company is facing.
The President said aggrieved parties are free to take the matter to court.
Meanwhile, President Lungu has announced that government acquired a 50 million United States dollar loan to promote aquaculture across the country.
President Lungu says there is need to diversify the economy in Luapula province.
And President Lungu has warned that non performing contractors risk having their contracts terminated.
