Police in Kitwe have arrested PF Copperbelt Provincial Chairman Steven Kainga and five other party officials to help with Investigations over the alleged attack on UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema in Kitwe this week.

 

Mr Kainga, Provincial Youth secretary Binwell Mpundu and Provincial Vice youth chairman Stanly Chandidi are detained at various police stations in Kitwe.

A check by ZNBC News at Kitwe central Police found party officials trying to secure bond for the six.

 

And PF Kitwe district Chairman Kelvin Sinyangwe confirmed the arrest of the six in an interview with ZNBC adding that they are merely assisting police with investigations on the matter.

Mr. Sinyangwe who is also Kitwe mayor maintained that the PF is a not violent party and will continue embracing and working with various stakeholders to promote unity and peace in the Country.

 

And Kitwe District commissioner Chanda Kabwe said the Government of President Edgar Lungu will not condone violence in the Country.

President Lungu , PF deputy secretary general Mumbi Phiri and Copperbelt minister Mwenya Musenge have all condemned the alleged attack on UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema in Kitwe recently.
