Apezeka Siyuni has been stripped off his Chieftaincy as Chief Mlolo of the Chewa speaking people of Chadiza District.

Siyuni who has been acting as Chief Mlolo of the Chewa speaking people for more than five years was last Monday stripped off his Chief tenancy by the supreme Kalonga Gawa Undi of the Chewa speaking people.

Confirming the development to ZANIS in Chadiza, Induna to Gawa Undi, Sanida Phiri said Siyuni was removed from the throne because of his gross indiscipline.

Mr Phiri said from the time Siyuni has been acting as Chief, he has committed more than seven offences that have been brought before Kalonga Gawa Undi.

The Induna said he could not disclose the nature of the cases that Siyuni committed because they were a disgrace to the Chewa speaking people.

Kalonga Gawa Undi has since appointed Sanida Phiri and Sefani Nkhoma to act in the absence of Chief Mlolo until the royal family meet to choose a new traditional ruler.

Sanida Phiri who is also headman Dulila told ZANIS that the task ahead was very challenging but that he would work hand in hand with his counterpart Sefani Nkhoma to make sure that there is smooth running of programs in the Chiefdom.
