Dear Ba Zesco,
Firstly I feel you are a disgrace to this country bane and your conduct is likely to breach peace. Electricity is the most essential element of our lives and the development of any country and you proudly left it to chance.

So if the water levels are as low as you’d love us to believe, what will happen if we don’t receive enough rains this year? If you depended so much on high and low water levels for electricity supply you were expected to pay extreme attention to issues of global warming and anything that would affect the water levels. After so many years of operation your CEO and his disciples should have by now planned of how to avoid the problem you are claiming now. In moments like this, I wonder how your CEO introduces himself kubantu… Ati Hi, am the Chief Electricity Outgoer for Zesco, I sit on the board for loadshedding country wide.

At first you asked us to buy those tuma energy saving bulbs which look like starving worms ati they will help stop loadshedding and we did kanshi Bufi. I hope this time you will not ask the fish to dig wells in the rivers or ask us ukulatuntila amenshi mufimana. With your loadshedding you are indirectly demanding that (1) we cut more trees for charcoal production- but you and I know how this extensive cutting of trees will affect our enviroment even the rains you are praying for.

(2) Mining and manufacturing companies should reduce operating hours- but you know too well that this country’s economy depends on these sectors to survive so indirectly you are sobataging the economy. The office hours too are now reduced because imwe ba Zesco nabu Zesco bwenu could not plan.
So imwe guys, the millions you collect every day from us your clients you just pay yourselves and buy bundles for your big phones? Seriously naimwe without shame ati water levels are low… Mmmmmm even when we had a drought many years ago electricity was not our problem. If we are to trust your wisdom, the situation is beyond your control and we have no choice but to sit and hope for rains to come soon and raise the water levels…. I seriously hope it will raise your pride levels too. We are a peaceful people and you ba Zesco should not take that for granted lwenu. Anyway naleka apapene kuti yaya amalaiti.

  1. Yes we agree water levels may be low, now the challenge is that the people or rather zesco is being run like its a kantemba, these people should have carried out a study and put in place an altenative solution. Never in the history of our country has such a situation occur. We have had experienced droughts before and not the nonsense they are telling us

  2. Awe lwanya, whatever pilato does this tym is being monitored, soon you’ll hear that pilato has gone to toilet, he has eaten nshima , has sneezed, has coughed …… Tamukweteko fimbi bushe? Bakolwe!

  3. That’s the way to go en it jst shows how we need a kick back to be awakened… #Thumbs_up_ Pilato

  5. A man dies and goes to hell. Once there, he realizes that there is a different hell for each country, so he tries to seek out the least painful one. At the door to German Hell, he is told: “First they put you in an electric chair for an hour. Then they lay you on a bed of nails for another hour. Then the German devil comes in and whips you for the rest of the day.” He does not like the sound of that, so he checks out American Hell, Russian Hell and many more. They are all similarly gruesome. However, at the door to Zambian Hell a long line of people is waiting to get in. Amazed, he asks, “What do they do here?” He is told: “First they put you in an electric chair for an hour. Then they lay you on a bed of nails for another hour. Then the Zambian devil comes in and whips you for the rest of the day.” “But that’s the same as the others,” says the man. “Why are so many people waiting to get in?” “Because of the Zesco power cuts, the electric chair does not work. The nails were paid for but never supplied, so the bed is comfortable. And the Zambian devil used to be a civil servant, so he comes in, signs his time sheet and goes back home for private business.”

  6. Zesco shud hav a deliberate plan to tackle such natural problems. This is 21st century and zambia has alot of water bodies whc r not utilised.y shud we stick to the traditional hydro whn we can venture into solar and thermal to supplement?

  7. Pilato, Zesco has no power over how much rain will fall so that power generation is constant. Your view is ok but think of the acts of God, fro which no human has control. If there was a way to refill kariba, I would love to here from you how it can be done, but there is no way. Even the famous Kitwe “pastor” who turned “water into gasoline” cannot turn kariba into Atlantic ocean

  8. People should think logically! We are just from the rain season and should we believe zesco for water shortage reason? Thats total madness

    • The rainfall pattern was poor. We are coming from the rain season but the reality on the ground is that Kariba Dam has low water level and we have no solution to that. This is the disadvantage of depending on HEP alone, we should try other means of power generation though others may be very dangerous

  9. power is not generated na ndevu pliz,,,,it’s water & we’ve got low water level apipito,,mulakwe futi ka????

    • U r rigt but Zesco shud hav a deliberate plan of emergency in case of such natural misnomer. How r other countries managing?

  10. He should have a solution to the Zesco problem. I mean he’s Pilato! A man who can sing about the President like that!

  11. amwe a pipito jus hw dull ar u???? surely u can’t understand a straight explanation?????,,,go & refill de kariba wit ur urine & hv power in ur cabin 247,,,,vindevu!!!!!
