Former MMD Mongu Central Member of Parliament Joseph Mulyata has joined the ruling PF, along with over 600 defectors from different opposition parties.

Mr Mulyata, who was Defence Deputy Minister in the MMD administration, defected during a public rally addressed by Vice President Inonge Wina in Mongu on Thursday.

Other persons who joined the ruling party are MMD Western province Chairman Katongo Kameya and MMD provincial chairlady Ethel Wamunyima.

Speaking during the rally, Mrs. Wina said Zambians are tired of experimenting with political parties.

Mrs. Wina says people have seen what the PF government has done in four years, and have been attracted to join.

She also says the PF hopes to introduce the Social Cash Transfer system in all the districts in the country by 2016.

And Mr Mulyata says he is humbled and grateful that the vice president herself has welcomed him to the ruling party.

He says he will work flat out to ensure the whole of Mongu joins the PF.

PF Provincial chairman Kenneth Mututwa urged party members to embrace the new comers.
