University of Zambia Lecturers and Researchers Union -UNZALARU- says government has promised to offset all contractual obligations for UNZA lecturers.

UNZALARU President, Eustone Chiputa says management has informed the Union that government will by Wednesday June 17 come up with modalities on how to offset the contractual obligations.

Dr. Chiputa told ZNBC in Lusaka that the threat to withhold examinations at the institution will be withdrawn to allow government and management to deal with the issue.

He says the union remains optimistic that government will resolve the issues.

Lecturers at the University were on a go slow which ended on Thursday.
