A WOMAN IN HER MID-TWENTIES HAS DIED ON THE SPOT WHILE THREE OTHERS ARE NURSING INJURIES AFTER BEING HIT BY A KASAMA MOTORIST.
Confirming the development to Mano News last evening, Northern Province Police Commissioner Mukuka Chewe said the incident happened yesterday near Kapongolo motel around 13: 00 hours.
Commissioner Chewe disclosed that the driver of the TOYOTA SPACIO bearing registration number APB180, Richard Goma 38 was over speeding as he was trying to avoid a police road block but ended up hitting the four pedestrians.
He disclosed that one of the three victims was discharged yesterday while the two are still admitted at Kasama General Hospital.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Chewe said the driver who is currently in police custody has since been charged with the offence of causing death by dangerous driving.
