The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has appointment ZESCO United Coach George Lwandamina as Acting coach of the Zambia national soccer team.

FAZ communications officer, Nkweto Tembwe, says Lwandamina has since been introduced to the team while former coach Honour Janza has returned to the Technical Directorate at Football House.

“The Football Association of Zambia announces the appointment of George Lwandamina as Acting coach of the Zambia national soccer team. Lwandamina assumes the job immediately and his first assignment is the Orange Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match between Zambia and Guinea Bissau, to be played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Saturday 13 June 2015,” FAZ said in a statement on Monday.

Tembwe said FAZ has since thanked Janza for the work undertaken during his time as coach of the Chipolopolo.

The FAZ communications officer said the rest of the Chipolopolo technical team will remain unchanged until there is a review of the present coaching staff.
He says Zambia Olympic Team Coach, Fighton Simukonda, will work with Lwandamina and Chintu Kampamba during the time the U 23 team is off international duty.

Lwandamina’s first assignment will be the Orange Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match against Guinea Bissau this Saturday at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

  1. Why is Zambia always changing coaches. I don’t think changing coaches everyday helps in any way. There’s really no consistency in what we are doin perhaps that’s why we keep losing…
