A 37-year-old man, Stuart Young, raped a baby boy when he was just one day old, and continued to abuse him for several months. Young sexually abused two other children over a period of five years between November 2008 and December 2013.

Young was found guilty of two rape charges and one sexual assault at the Edinburg High court on Thursday. According to the reports, he began raping the boy from the day after his birth and continued the offence till they boy was three-months old.

His other victims include a six-year-old girl, whom he also raped over a period of years beginning from from when she was six-months-old and continuing until she was five years old. Young also sexually abused a nine-year old girl in July 2013 in the Stenhouse area of Edinburgh.

Young’s offences were so horrific that the jury who convicted him this week has been excused from having to serve again for five years. Young was arrested and charged in January, 2014 after one of the girls accounted her ordeal.

However, Young pleaded not guilty to all the charges. Judge Paul Arthurson adjourned his sentence until May 28 but suggested that Young could expect a long-term prison sentence. According to BBC reports, Judge Arthurson also described the offences as “truly depraved and despicable crimes”

Detective Inspector Douglas Moran, after the hearing, said: “Thanks to the bravery of these two little girls in speaking up about the horrific abuse Young inflicted upon them, their physical ordeal is over and their tormentor is now facing a considerable prison sentence.” DNA-INDIA-NEWS
