Thieves steal mortuary windows

Unknown people have stolen window panes from Chavuma district hospital which is currently under construction.

ZANIS in Chavuma reports that hospital sources have confirmed that eight window panes and a switch from the newly constructed mortuary were stolen between Monday night and Tuesday morning this week . The matter has since been reported to Police in Chavuma.

 

The hospital authorities wondered why people could resort to vandalizing an important facility that government had put in place at a huge cost.

The authorities have since urged Chavuma residents to stay alert and help government to safe guard the health facility which is meant to bring health services closer to the people.

The community members with information regarding the theft have further been urged to cooperate with police so that culprits are brought to book.

Meanwhile, the contractor engaged to complete the final construction works at the hospital will soon be on site.
