Agriculture and Livestock Deputy Minister Maxas Ngonga has appealed to Cereal Millers and Farms Limited in Mbala to reduce the price of roller meal.
Mr. Ngonga wondered why the miller has pegged roller meal at K52 at not K45.
He expressed concern that despite government’s recent directive to reduce the price of mealie meal, Cereal Millers had pegged roller meal at a higher price.
Mr. Ngonga said it was important that millers comply with government’s directive and ensure the commodity is affordable.
Mr. Ngonga was speaking during a familization tour of Northern Province.
But Cereal Millers and Farms Limited Manager Teddy Mazimba attributed the price increase to high demand of roller meal in the area. NAIS
