The Electoral Commission of Zambia – ECZ- says young people who will turn 18 by July 31, 2016 will be allowed to register as Voters.
ECZ Public Relations Manager Cris Akufuna says this will allow more young people of voting age to participate in the 2016 tripartite elections.
Mr. Akufuna has since urged the youth that will be 18 by the end of July next year to ensure they obtain National Registration Cards – NRCs which will enable them register as voters.
Mr. Akufuna said this in an interview with ZNBC news in Lusaka.
And Mr. Akufuna has advised citizens of voting age to discard the tendency of waiting for the last day before registering as voters.
He said the mobile registration exercise starts on August 17 and ends in October 16th this year.
