FOUNDATION FOR DEMOCRATIC PROCESS-FODEP HAS OPPOSED SUGGESTIONS BY PF SECRETARY GENERAL DAVIES CHAMA THAT HIS PARTY IS YET TO REPORT TO RELEVANT AUTHORITIES TO INVESTIGATE RAINBOW PARTY PRESIDENT, WYNTER KABIMBA ON THE SOURCE OF FUNDING TO RUN HIS PARTY.

In a statement made available to Mano News on March 23rd, FODEP Executive Director, McDonald Chipenzi noted that in Zambia there is no law that compels political parties to disclose the sources of their funding.

Mr Chipenzi charged that unless the PF Secretary General Davies Chama suspect’s that there was money laundering activities by Mr. Kabimba, saying short of that will be an act of victimization against him.

He has since challenged the PF Secretary General instead push for the enactment of a law that will require political parties to disclose their source of funding.

Last month, Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Davies Chama disclosed that the former PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba left the ruling party’s coffers empty when he was fired.

The PF Secretary General has since disclosed that the party is still studying circumstances in which the former Secretary General left the party coffers empty before reporting the matter to relevant authorities.
