Chief Mukuni to grace Arts festival

The Zambia Tourist Board (ZTB) says the Livingstone International Cultural and Arts Festival which kick-off on  Thursday 26th March will be graced by His Royal highness Chief Mukuni who is the Traditional ruler of Livingstone.

 

This yeear’s event is organized by Zambia Tourism Board, National Arts Council (NAC), Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA), National Heritage and Conservation Commission (NHCC), National Museums Board (NMB), Ministry of Tourism and Arts as well as the private sector.

 

The Zambia Tourism Board said this in a statement availed to ZANIS today.

 

ZTB says the purpose of the festival is to promote culture and arts while promoting tourism, hospitality and the travel industry in Livingstone.

 

ZTB said LICAF will run from 26 to 28th March 2015 with a concoction of different activities which includes dance lessons, sunset Boat cruise parties, traditional food exhibition, traditional Musical instruments, Gala dinner and many other events.

 

ZTB disclosed that apart from LICAF 2015, the Travel Media Association will hold a meeting for media practitioners with the subject “Media beyond News” to be attended by the Zambia Tourism Board (ZTB) and chaired by the Travel Media Association of Zambia.

LICAF organizing committee has further invited the private sector, corporate bodies, media and the general public to participate in the iconic event.

 

LICAF is also expected to contribute significantly towards domestic tourism which would trickle down to economic empowerment and business benefits for the city of Livingstone.
