Government to end President Lungu’s health speculations

ice President Inonge Wina says Government intends to institutionalize medical personnel that will be responsible for the health of the president to stop speculation on the health of the President.
Ms Wina has told Parliament during the Vice President’s question time that this particular body of medical personnel will be able to give authoritative information pertaining to the health of the President.
She says this will avoid speculation and counter speculation on the health of the President.
The Vice President adds that this is being done in other countries in the world.

Ms Wina says at the moment it appears anybody can make a comment on the health of the President regardless whether government is transparent in informing the nation on the health of the President.
And Ms Wina says the Statutory Instrument which increased the retirement age from 55 to 65 years will be amended.
She says Cabinet will meet to discuss the issue of the increased retirement age.
Ms Wina states that the commitment President Edgar Lungu made prior to the 20th January presidential election to reverse the retirement age still remains.
