he opposition MMD has banned the use of former party and Republican President Rupiah Banda’s party regalia during public functions.

MMD National Secretary Mwansa Mbulakulima announced the ban during a media briefing in Lusaka this morning that the party has since written to the Zambia Police notifying them about the development.

Mr Mbulakulima says youths across the country who will be taking part in tomorrow’s Youth Day celebrations should desist from using Mr Banda’s party regalia.

Mr. Mbulakulima has warned that the party will not tolerate any use of the former President’s regalia because he is not the President of the MMD.

And Mr. Mbulakulima has wished Republican President Edgar Lungu, who is in South Africa for medical attention, a quick recovery.

He says the party does not take pleasure in seeing anyone getting sick and expects to see President Lungu return home in the same jovial manner he left the country.

And the MMD National Secretary has disclosed that the party has organized a National Policy Conference to take place next week to look at how best the party can be shaped ahead of next year’s General Elections.

Mr. Mbulakulima says the party is going through the healing process and does not expect anyone to frustrate it.
