FIRST Lady Esther Lungu yesterday led scores of women at an inter-denominational World Day of Prayer at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Lusaka.
Mrs Lungu and other women attended the service to pray for the nation to achieve its development goals.  The event is held every first Friday of March
The World Day of Prayer was held under the theme: ‘Do you know what I have done to you?’.
Mrs Lungu read from the book of John 13:17, which talks about the night before Jesus was betrayed and how He knew that He was to be betrayed by one of His disciples.

And Salvation Army Zambia territorial commandant Margaret Siamoya prayed for peace and unity in the nation.
She prayed that God should grant wisdom and knowledge to national leaders.
Prayers were read to end corruption, gender-based violence and poverty and the nation was urged to depend on God for everything.
The World Day of Prayer is an international denominational Christian movement in more than 170 countries.
