GBM cries foul

Expelled Patriotic Front Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba says he was not notified to appear before the PF disciplinary Committee before being expelled from the ruling party.

Mr. Mwamba has told QFM News that had the party wrote to him summoning him to appear before the PF disciplinary Committee, he would have complied without hesitation.

Mr. Mwamba says he has been a loyal PF Member who would have appeared before disciplinary committee had he received the letter summoning to do so.

Mr. Mwamba, popularly known as GBM, has been expelled from the ruling party for gross misconduct, indiscipline and bringing the name of the party into disrepute.

Meanwhile Vice President Inonge Wina has justified the expulsion of Chongwe Member of Parliament Sylvia Masebo and her Kasama Central counterpart Geoffrey Mwamba from the ruling Patriotic Front.

Responding to a question by Monze Central Member of Parliament Jack Mwiimbu during the vice president’s question time, who wanted to know why the PF was discriminating by expelling its Members of Parliament who support the UPND in the presidential election when some MMD and UPND MPs support the PF,Ms Wina says the expelled MPs went against the rules of the party.

Ms Wina says the Members of Parliament supported another candidate at their own peril.

She says there is no question of discrimination in the action taken by the PF, stating that issues of expulsion of members of political parties are internal arrangements.
